Minimal jewellery for everyday wear
Pieces you can put on in the morning and forget about until night, through rickshaw rides, rain and office air conditioning.

Everyday jewellery has a harder job than occasion jewellery. It has to survive a commute, a sudden shower, a full working day and a dinner, and still look right with whatever you put on that morning.
Choose forms, not decoration
A circle, a line, a dot. Simple shapes do not go out of fashion and do not compete with a printed kameez or a patterned shirt.
Think about what touches skin
Cheap plated jewellery turns skin green because the base metal reacts with sweat. Steel does not react, and its colour is the metal itself, so there is nothing to wear off.
Layer by length
Two fine chains work when they are at least two inches apart in length: 16 and 18 inches, or 18 and 20. The same length tangles.
Keep one piece constant
People who wear jewellery well usually have one piece they never take off. Everything else changes around it.
